This magnificent movie, which made me exclaim, “This is cinema!” was recommended to me by my namesake Tom and “Mike,” and I couldn’t be more grateful for their suggestion… Let me start by saying this is a 2-hour movie comprising six distinct and unique short stories. Each of these Western tales stands alone, with different stories and actors. In one segment, we witness the thrilling tale of a master cowboy with a lightning-fast trigger finger, while in another, we follow the journey of an old prospector searching for gold amidst a heavenly landscape that will leave you wondering, “Does this place actually exist on Earth?!” Here’s my advice: consider skipping the final segment. Yes, I know I’ve spent years encouraging you to watch everything I recommend here, but this last segment might slightly taint your otherwise positive experience of the movie. That said, I absolutely loved this movie. From the slap-in-the-face moments that evoke both smiles and tears, to the surprising twists, to the stunning cinematography and exceptional performances—everything (except the final section) captivated me. Each frame could serve as a breathtaking wallpaper. Watching this movie felt like revisiting the fairy tales of my childhood. It even made me sigh, “If only this were a 60-episode series instead of a 6-episode movie.” This is what cinema should be—this is art.
